outcry!

There was some general outcry because of my last blog entry. Apparently I looked miserable doing yard work in front of my house. It was a lot of work, don't get me wrong but I wasn't really that miserable. We've come a long way in the front of the house. That big pile of dirt is spread out and "settling" now, I haven't seeded it yet but will soon. Hopefully we'll have a lawn in no time. We also got a raised garden bed built, and have planted rhubarb, strawberries, radishes, carrots, spinach and peas. These, we were assured, are all early season plants. none have appeared out of the ground yet...but I'm hopeful.
We've got our other native plants in the ground as well. I'm particularly excited about nootka roses ( they are a native rose species) that are starting to bud like crazy. They'll be beauties.
Nothing but fun at the Griffith house.

This last week has been busy, of course, but the entire Holy Week experience was great. We hosted a wonderful Thursday night meal and service, the choir performed a beautiful cantata for the Good Friday service, and Easter morning was full and bright with as many alleluias as we could fit in. Now that it's Tuesday my week will slow down quite a bit and I'll get some rest.

I'm jealous that you're already planting. We're still faced with melting snowdrifts. But Ronald is working through the Burpee catalog and dreaming of the day we'll have tilled up a nice new garden!

I'm jealous that you guys are already planting! Though Ronald is poring through the Burpee catalog, our dreams for a new garden are on hold until the snow drifts melt and the snow stops (more forecast for tomorrow!). Needless to say, we didn't get any potatoes planted on Good Friday.
