I've heard of these before but for some reason the idea of six word stories caught my attention recently. Rumor has it that this notion of writing a story in just six words goes back to some of the great writers of the west. Hemingway's shockingly powerful six word story is said to be: "For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn." I think it would take far more than six words to fully unpack the potential of meaning in those six words.
It combines the abstraction and beauty of poetry and the storied world of narrative in a quirky six word offering.
In the last few days I've been giving it a try. Most of them are unoriginal and lame but when I find one I like I'll share it.
Give it a try and share them with me, either email me or leave them as comments on this post.
