That is a brilliant chicken coop

Here are some photos of the most recent evolution of the chicken coop. They're doing great in their mobile coop, they love a fresh spot of grass every day. So far it's been easy to clean and move around and I'm happy with the design. This last weekend I made a few additions. I decided to add a water catchment system that fed into a storage bucket, that kept a constant waterer full. Basically the coop catches rain and delivers water to the chickens as needed. After a few glitches, and a few trips to the hardware store I got it to work. For those of you following the fire truck saga, this is the next best thing for now...

So here you can see the bucket that catches the water from the gutter and delivers it to the constant waterer.

This is the back of the coop and you can see the gutter that catches rain off the roof--plenty of rain here so far this spring.

This is the bowl that stays at a constant level so they always have water. So far it's worked out great.

They just got their big feeder installed too. I think I'm more excited about it than they are. I don't have to check their food as often and they won't make such a mess with this one. But they're chickens, they'll make a mess somehow.
