Our famous dog (sort of)

We took a break from our rigorous packing schedule to have some fun this weekend. Heather, Nora and I went to the Galena River on Sunday for a short paddle. Nora is sporting her new life jacket! She did pretty good back there, it's her third time out and she is getting better at it each time. She did jump out twice and it is no easy task getting her back in while we are under way.
Usually the river in Galena is a quiet place to be, I only rarely see people out there. This being a big three day weekend there were lots of people hanging out in Galena and a lot of people by the river. People really enjoyed seeing our silly dog in the back of a kayak. She was quite the photo opportunity.

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend. We have been getting ready to move to Washington State. So that means a lot of packing, organizing, and sorting. Three things that I really don't enjoy, but it does feel good to get this done. I keep thinking we have abundant time to get ready to move. As it turns out our moving date is rapidly approaching. We pick up the truck on June 15th, and start driving on the 16th!

Heather's last day of work is June 1st and the next day we are going kayaking in the Apostle Islands for a few days. On the way back to Dubuque we are going to Scott and Stef's wedding on June 9th. All said and done we won't be back until the 10th. All that said, my packing time is even more limited than the calendar suggests.
