Use what you got

I have some unsightly grassless spots in the front yard of my fine seminary house. I found some stuff that is made of grass seed, recycled paper, and other stuff that is supposed to patch these spots in my yard. The instructions say to use a rake to stir up the areas before you apply this stuff. Well I don't have a rake and in the logical progression of my mind the next best thing to use was my crampons. As I was digging them out of my basement I was wondering how often crampons get used in Iowa?

They work surprisingly well. They are made for walking around on glaciers and they did a fine job of tearing up my yard. I'm pretty sure all my neighbors thought I was crazy.

We're getting ready for the big move, secured the rental truck this morning and I'll spend the rest of the day packing ( or most likely get distracted by something and be busy doing something else).
