It's been a little long since my last update. I've got the same story, I'm just plain busy.
We've got a lot of great stuff going on at the church and it's exciting to be a part of this ministry.
A few weeks ago I preached at a funeral and used psalm 46 for a portion of my sermon. I really like the part at the end, "be still and know I am God." In the midst of chaos and crazy lives, I think about that, "Be still and know I am God."
I get so wound up in being busy sometimes I forget to just take a deep breath and remember the bigger perspective. There is more to my life than the next meeting I have to go to, or the next bulletin I'm putting together. The last phrase from Psalm 46 helps me to remember that perspective.
Most mornings I get up and first thing I do a simple yoga routine. That helps me as well, to remember to take a moment and be still. For me the ritual action helps, something that is repetitive everyday. That way it becomes a habit.
