Hot springs

A few weeks ago Ethan, Heather and I hiked out to the Olympic Hot Springs. It sounded like a great way to spend a rainy and gloomy afternoon. The trail up to the hot springs is an old paved road that had been abandoned, or allowed to be "reclaimed". Needless to say the trail is not that strenuous. We did have a great time up there once we got passed the naked hippies, the naked Asians, and the angry eastern Europeans. There are several hot spring options once one arrives in the general area. We found one with a few very nice South Korean men, who were clothed appropriately. The water was not that hot, which was nice because it enabled us to stay up there for a long time with out cooking ourselves. Now I have become sort of a hot spring connoisseur and this rates just ok on my official scale. The one to beat so far is a beautiful place in the Yukon.

It was a great day trip and worth the effort to get out there. I was thinking it might be a fun youth group trip but with the general lack of clothing I'm re-thinking that plan...

Sounds a bit like the "Mt. Riley"
hike!
