Here's the problem. I have a bigger size camera. It takes awesome pictures but it is nearly impossible to take it along while snowboarding, or a similar potentially impactful sport. Ethan has a great little digital camera that takes pictures that are just fine and he took some pictures of us while we were out and about on the slopes of Telluride. I'd love to post some of those pictures but he hasn't emailed them to me yet. I hope to see them soon...
Heather and I were able to get away on Friday and go cross country skiing. We went to a place near Mt. Rainier. I have never seen so much snow on this particular trail before. We had a great time. The snow was good for skiing, not too fast but good snow none the less. We skied about 11 miles that day and were plenty tired when we got back to the truck. Our little Lab.,Nora, was one tired puppy. She curled up behind the seats and that was the last we heard from her until we got home.
I'm going to the Youth Workers Extravaganza in Anaheim, CA later this week. I feel like I've been out of town quite a bit lately but this is the last trip for a while. This should be a fun conference.
Before I get out of town I preach on Ash Wednesday. I've been wresting with the texts for just two days now and there is a lot going on. In the gospel reading Jesus is talking with the disciples about prayer, and fasting, and storing up your treasures... See! There is a lot going on in this story and a lot of different ways to go with a sermon. I need to narrow it down to just one; I've found it's best to preach one sermon at a time.
